Are you a sustainable salon?
Yes, sustainability is an important part of who we are. We prioritize responsible product choices, waste reduction practices, and partners that align with our values. We believe caring for people and caring for the planet go hand in hand. We are always working on finding ways to reduce waste. Check out our recycling program here.

Is your salon accessible?
We strive to be as accessible as possible and are always learning how to do better. If you have specific accessibility needs, sensory concerns, or accommodations you’d like us to be aware of, please reach out ahead of your appointment so we can support you as best we can. We are on the first floor of our building and are wheelchair accessible.

Do you offer silent/ low-conversation/ mirrorless appointments?
Yes!! Please let your stylist know what you need. We are happy to accommodate you in any way possible!
What products do you sell?
We have Innersense, Cult & King and Kevin Murphy. We only stock products that we have found are our favourites and that sell. To reduce waste, we do not stock our shelves heavily.
Getting Started & New Guests!

I’m new, what should I book?
If you’re a new client, please book New Client Haircut/Color Sessions or a Consultation, depending on your needs and stylist you are choosing. Consultations are especially helpful for larger changes or color services. If you are not sure, reach out to the stylist and they will help you.

What is a consultation and do I need one?
A consultation is a dedicated time to talk through your hair goals, history, maintenance expectations, and pricing before committing to a service. Consultations are recommended for new color clients, big transformations, or anytime you want clarity before booking. Some of our stylists require dedicated time on all new guest appointments, while other stylists include it.

How do I choose the right stylist?
We encourage you to explore our stylists’ bios and portfolios, many of which are shared on Instagram. Choosing a stylist is a personal decision, trust what feels aligned for you. If you’d like guidance, you’re welcome to fill out our match form.

How much will my service cost?
Most of our stylists use flat-rate or hourly session pricing, which allows for transparency and clarity around cost for the most part. Pricing details are listed in each stylist’s booking menu. For personalized questions or more complex services, please reach out to your stylist directly. You may need to come into the salon for a quote, we cannot quote you a price without seeing your hair in person.

How should I show up with my hair for my appointment?
We generally recommend arriving with clean (within 48 hours), dry hair, down, free from hat hair and ponytail/braid creases, & worn how you normally style it. Your stylist may provide additional guidance prior to your appointment.

Do you accept gratuities?
This depends on your stylist. Some of us do, some of us do not. Gratuity is not expected but it is appreciated. Some of our stylists donate their gratuity to our nonprofit foundation.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and card. Some of our stylists accept Zelle and Venmo. Please check in with your stylist directly prior to the day of your appointment if you are wanting to pay with another method other than cash or card.

Do you require a deposit to schedule?
For large appointments your stylist may require a deposit. Please check in with your stylist if you are unsure. For smaller, shorter appointments this is typically not required. Though some exceptions may apply.

Booking & Communication!

How do I book an appointment?
The Beauty Project Salon uses online booking/ texting exclusively. Appointments can be booked directly through our website with the stylist of your choice. You may contact your stylist via text message here. We do not offer walk-in appointments and kindly ask that you do not come into the salon hoping to book in person.

Will I receive appointment confirmations or reminders?
Yes. Once your appointment is booked, you’ll receive confirmations and reminders through text or email, based on the communication preferences you consent to within the booking system. Please make sure your contact information is accurate so you don’t miss important updates from your stylist. Please do not reply to these messages, this is a robot and we will not receive them. Please reach out to your stylist directly if you need help.
How do I contact my stylist?
Each stylist at The Beauty Project Salon operates independently and has their own preferred method of communication. You can find contact details on the Meet Our Stylists page through your stylist’s bio, website, or Instagram. Please respect their chosen contact method.

Do you have a phone number?
We do not have a public salon phone number by design.
This allows our stylists to stay present with their clients.
Hours, Location & Visiting us!

What are your hours?
We are an appointment-only salon. Each stylist sets their own schedule, so hours and availability vary. Please refer to online booking or contact your stylist directly for availability. We are typically here Monday-Saturday 10-5pm.

Where are you located?
The Beauty Project Salon is located in Midtown Reno, Nevada. Our address is 720 Tahoe Street Reno, Nevada 89509. We have a parking lot you are welcome to park in while you are here though it can be limited at times. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to allow time for parking and to settle in. Please do not leave your car in the lot if you are not in the building. Street parking is close by and typically available too.

How do I find the salon?
The building is labelled "720 Tahoe" you will see "The Yoga Center" signs on the building. When you arrive at the building, you may get a little turned around. That's okay and totally normal!! Once you park, you will enter through the front blue door which is on the North side of the building parallel to St. Lawerence Ave. Once you have entered the front building, we are the first door on the right.

Can I bring a friend?
You can, yes. But our space is small and can get loud very easily. Please be mindful of this impact on the space having more people at your appointment. Please refrain from bringing children under the age of 12 without a scheduled appointment into the salon. Learn more about our policies here.

Can I stop by to purchase products?
YES! BUT! Because we are appointment-only, we can’t always accommodate in-person shopping. We recommend checking with your stylist to see if anyone is in that day or shopping through our online store when available.
Returning Guests!

I’m an existing client, what should I book?
If you’re unsure which service to book, your stylist is the best person to guide you. Please reach out to them directly for recommendations.

Do you cut children’s hair?
Some stylists at The Beauty Project Salon offer haircuts for children, while others do not. Availability varies by stylist. Please check individual booking menus or contact your stylist directly to see if they are the right fit for your child.

Policies & Expectations!

What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice or missed entirely may be charged 100% of the scheduled service cost. That said, we do not want sick people in the salon. If you wake up unwell the day of your appointment, please contact your stylist directly so you can decide together what’s best. You can learn more about our policies here.

What if I'm running late?
Please let your stylist know if you are running even just a few minutes late so we don't worry about you! A simple text is great and very helpful. If you are running more than 10-15 mins late, we may have to reschedule you and a fee may apply. Please plan properly and communicate promptly. We will do the same for you when we are running late.

What if I’m unhappy with my hair?
Your experience matters to us. If something doesn’t feel right after your appointment, please contact your stylist directly so you can work together toward a solution. While we do not offer refunds on services or products, we are committed to open communication and reasonable resolutions.
