Work hard. Rest harder.
Balance. Always creating balance.
The past six months has felt like two years because I have poured every ounce of myself into the creation of my dream to create a safe, loving space that celebrates and honors ourselves and our planet.
Pouring myself, my most full and complete incredible self, into this work can and will only happen as I turn off, relax and restore. Breathing into it all.
As our lives quickly happen, we seem to grasp at the moments that slip between our fingertips, moving through like quicksand, punching us in the stomach, leaving us grasping for air. Do you remember when you were a kid, playing on the money bars and your hands slip... You hit the ground with incredible force and the wind is knocked out of you and you cannot breathe.
Yet, you stand up and walk back over to the ladder and get back on the monkey bars to try again.
There is such a battle to be ourselves
And to fit in...
But to be ourselves...
But to belong... To belong is where the magic happens.
If you are fortunate enough to find where you belong rather than fit in, you won't have to try so hard to be yourself. Because the trying part just slips into an ease of relaxing, being and existing. That is what I have found in the past year. The more I was trying to fit in, the most I lost myself, so the choice to be myself, more and more -- creating a whole business that is all of the different parts of myself under one roof is what belonging means to me.
And to be creating a safe space where we create connections whether it is through doing hair, talking about beauty, sharing about our lives or giving to others in the most selfless ways...
